Pricing

PayFines Inc. has introduced two pricing options:

Option 1.)

Yearly fee of $2,500 charged to the POA court. There is no transaction charge to the user or the court.

Option 2.)

The user will be charged a transaction fee of $2.50. There will be no access fee or transaction fee charged to the POA court for use of the service that Payfines Inc. provides. POA courts will be given a 90 day notice if there is to be any change to the fee. The $2.50 transaction fee charged by Payfines Inc. will not be reflected in the admin module and will be transparent to the POA court.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why doesn't PayFines validate credit cards real time?

    • If you are paying via the Internet, you will receive a digital receipt once your credit card charge has been authorized and your payment is completed. We recommend that you print out the digital receipt for your records as proof of payment.

  • Why is PayFines completely seperate from ICON?

    • Due to feedback we received from POA Courts, ICON has been kept separate from PayFines. In order to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the data entered, POA Court personnel will have full control over what is entered into ICON. Payments can be uploaded by batch into ICON.

  • Where am I allowed to put PayFines's address so the consumer can find out about it?

    • PayFines web site address can be displayed along with the traditional address on any and all materials. As well, PayFines is the first website to be allowed by the Ontario Government to have their address printed and displayed on the tickets themselves.

  • Can I edit the administration fees?

    • Yes. You have full access to them. By default we have entered $2.50, $3.75, $5.00 and $20.00 for the administration fees, but they may be modified by you.

  • Can I edit the information? What if a consumer makes a mistake?

    • Yes. You have full control over any modifications to the information.

  • What are the advantages of having this system over traditional methods?

    • Using the PayFines website will result in decreased mail and telephone calls, therefore maximizing staff time.

  • What are your plans for the future? Are you going to expand?

    • Adding Part 2
    Payment plan system where a payment plan can be entered into the system and payment will be processed on a specific schedule.

    • We received our first payment on March 27th 2003. Since then we have processed over 3 Million dollars in fines.

    • The defendant is requested to print the page showing his payment. He/she is clearly advised that this is not a receipt. That only once the credit card is processed and applied to ICON will a receipt be generated by return e-mail bearing an individual confirmation number.
